Quick update on my lawsuit against LINE. The first hearing took place in February 2026.

The judge defined three issues for the case: (1) whether LINE has a legal obligation to provide service to its users, (2) if so, whether there was a legitimate reason to suspend my account, and (3) regardless of the above, whether LINE had an obligation to explain the grounds for the suspension.

LINE’s position was that they have no intention of explaining the reason for the suspension in court. On whether they would be willing to lift the ban, they said they would check with LINE.

We will prepare a brief for the next hearing arguing that LINE is legally obligated to both provide the service and explain the suspension, and that the court should require LINE to submit evidence justifying the ban. The idea is to make clear that if LINE doesn’t lift the suspension voluntarily, they risk having those obligations imposed by court order.

The next hearing is on April 7, 2026. I’ll post another update then.
